A Cr:YAG passive Q-switch is bonded to a Nd:YAG rod using a diffusion technique that results in a high damage threshold. Standard sizing is 4 mm in diameter and 50 mm long with a high reflectance coating on the Q-switch end and an anti-reflection coating on the other end. Other sizes are available.
